Seasonal Colour Analysis is a systematic process that helps identify colours best suited for you, based on your natural colouring (skin tone, eye colour, and hair colour). Each season has a corresponding palette of colours that complement your natural features and colouring, leaving you looking radiant, healthy, and effortlessly put-together.
The list is endless, really! But for starters, you stop buying things that look great in the store but wrong on you.
You spend less, shop smarter, and get dressed faster.
Your makeup and hair choices become clearer.
If you have an important event coming up, be it a wedding, interview, or any other event that expects you to look your best, knowing what colours work best for you helps you feel more confident.
I use the 16-season colour analysis system, expanded up to 23. It is the most comprehensive systems available and gives you results that are genuinely specific to you.
Your assigned season does not change. That said, as you age, the shades that work best within your assigned season may shift slightly.
Absolutely. The system I use accounts for the full range of human colouring.
Not at all. Your colouring is your colouring, and the principles apply to everyone. A lot of our clients are men and they’ve loved their sessions just as much, if not more!
That said, colour analysis booking for male clients are taken only as part of a couple session. We currently do not offer individual sessions to male clients.
No, everyone has one season. Some people sit closer to the edge of two adjacent seasons than others, and that nuance is exactly what a thorough analysis identifies. The 16 to 23 season system I work with is built to capture those subtleties so you walk away with a precise result rather than a vague one.
You do not have to stop wearing it. Colour analysis is a guide, not a rulebook. Apart from identifying the colours that best suit you, we also help you understand how to wear colours that are not in your seasonal palette in a way that still works. The goal is always confidence and practicality, not restriction.
Yes. Colour analysis reads your overall colouring and undertone, not isolated patches of skin. Please mention any skin conditions on your consultation form in advance.
Yes. Please mention this on your consultation form so I can factor it in.
Sessions are available for clients aged 16 and above. Puberty can affect colouring, so results are most accurate once colouring has settled.
Please note that children are strictly not permitted at the studio during appointments.
Yes, unequivocally. Here is what to look for before you book with anyone:
What system do they use? A credible analyst will name a specific, recognised colour analysis training program, not a vague blend of approaches. Hairstyling, makeup, or general styling training is not the same as formal colour analysis training, even if colour is touched on.
Is their methodology objective and repeatable? Colour analysis is both a science and an art. It takes both a sound knowledge in colour theory as well as a trained eye that only trained professionals have. Personal bias, guesswork, and random methods learnt from the internet or other professional colour analysts’ content do not make someone a professionally trained colour analyst.
What level of training have they completed? There is a significant difference between an introductory course/online program and a mastery-level (in-person) qualification. Ask specifically what the highest level of training their program offers, and whether they have completed it.
Is their training from a recognised institution? Certification from a recognised school means the analyst is accountable to a defined system and standard.
AI reads overtone, which is the surface appearance of your skin. What it cannot do is assess undertone, which is the first and most crucial step in determining your season. A trained colour analyst looks beneath the surface, observing how your skin reacts to different colours under draping conditions, at each stage of the analysis. Interestingly, an untrained person using an AI tool is working with the same limitation, i.e., surface observation without the methodology to go deeper. That is precisely why formal training exists and why the results of a properly conducted analysis are so different from anything a quiz or app can produce.
Colour analysis focuses specifically on identifying the colours that harmonise with your natural colouring. A style transformation is broader and covers identifying your personal style, body shape and variations, a lifestyle analysis, and colour analysis, based on which personal shopping, wardrobe building, and outfit curation is done. The two complement each other beautifully - colour tells you what to buy, style tells you how to wear it. At Hue Got Styled by Neeti Sarkar, we are certified in both and offer both services.
